Dr. Robert S. Porter is editor-in-chief of The Merck Manuals, a role he has filled since 2006, having joined Merck in 2001. Prior to that, Rob was in the practice of Emergency Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He is Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, where he has been on the faculty since 1984. He received his MD from Hahnemann University in 1980 and is a graduate of Duke University.
 
Dr. Porter will help us understand the uses and sources of information in the Merck Manual, which has been the authoritative reference of current medical information for both physicians and individuals around the world for over 100 years.
