Project “Holiday Hope Chest” is a grass roots project that offers needy area residents an opportunity to shop for free for the holidays. A “store” is set up for one day at the Pennock’s Bridge campus of he Technical High School. The store includes an inventory of new items including toys, games and clothing that are available to shoppers at greatly reduced prices. Each shopper is given a Holiday Hope Chest voucher with which items are purchased.
Eligible participants are selected by community agencies including Head Start, Family Promise and the Carter Community Development Corporation, just to name a few. Since its inception in 2014, Holiday Hope Chest has grown steadily and served more than 200 families last year alone.
Please bring toys for the age group of 5 years to 12 years for the Holiday Hope Chest. They will be collected as you enter Longwood Gardens.
