Steve Maley - Longwood Rotary President 2023-2024
Steve Maley
Longwood Rotary Club
President 2023 - 2024

Welcome to Longwood Rotary Club! We are nearly 100 Rotarians from across our Greater Southern Chester County community who come together for service and fellowship.

We invite you to join us for our weekly meetings at 7:00 AM Thursdays on the campus of the world-famous Longwood Gardens. If you are looking for a way to positively impact our community along with like-minded, service-oriented people: you’ve found the place.

When asked about his upcoming year as Rotary International president, Gordon McInally responds: “It’s not about my year. It’s about one of Rotary’s years.” Well said. I get to be the steward of this great club until I hand it off to next year’s president. And my only hope is that I can sustain the momentum others have created to make this Club what it is, and continue its impact on our community.

And I get the honor of being able to stand on the shoulders of some incredible folks who have come before me, and I am humbled to follow in their footsteps – and so our goals for this coming year largely build on the incredible work Lynn Nathan, Rob Newman, Vicki Gehrt, Bob Curran - and on down the line - have done over the past few years.

Our 2023-24 Rotary International Theme is “Create Hope in the World”. Rotary International incoming President Gordan McInally has said of the theme that, “The goal is to restore hope — to help the world heal from destructive conflicts and, in turn, to help us achieve lasting change for ourselves,"

When hear this, it feels massive, unattainable…at least for me. What can I do? What can WE do? But: I continue to be so impressed with the way Rotarians constantly give of their time and talents, truly giving meaning to “service above self”. We all get to be a part of this exciting vision, even if in small – but always impactful – ways.

Come join us…I invite you to experience for yourself what “service above self” means at Longwood Rotary Club. We can’t wait to see you bright and early at Longwood Gardens.
