    years ago. She was appalled at the conditions at a local hospital
    because they only had electrical power for 8 hours per day resulting
    in children and adults dieing day. She returned to the US determined to
    make a difference and provide the native people with 24 hour a day
   electrical power for their village and hospital.

4-Way Test Book for Children - "Andy and Elmers Apple Dumpling Adventure"
To share the education of the Rotary 4-Way Test with elementary children

   in our community, we have initiated a project to distribute an easy to read
   book specifically designed for young children. The teachers/parents reading
   guide book also comes with an activity coloring book for both fun and education,

PLUS a fun recipe for making Apple Dumplings. Watch a video recording

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Conferece

(RYLA) Conference conducted on Feb. 20-22, 2009 at the Freedon
Foundation located in Valley Forge, PA. The Longwood Rotary Club sponsored

16 of the 69 students who attended allowing them to learn about peer involvement,

group interaction and personal leadership.

"Tiny Tears" Movie Preview
   Tiny Tears" is a tremendously impactful - independently produced - movie about
   children impacted by HIV/AIDS from Thailand, Uganda, Brazil and our own local
   Camp Dreamcather. The movie focuses these children around the world not only
   to create awareness, but also to inspire the viewer that hope can be born out of tragedy.

The movie will be shown locally as a fundrasier for Camp Dreamcatcher on May 6th at
the FLASH Theatre, 102 Sycamore Alley, Kennett Square. Doors open at 6:30pm
adn the movie starts at 7:00 pm. Admission is only $10.

President Dave Takes The "Polar Plunge"
   Watch this hilarous video as President Dave meets the $500 challange,
   with funds raised by Longwood Club members, to see him and his
   fellow Rotarians, John Sanville and Al Iacocca PLUS members of the
   Unionville High School Rotary Interact Club...PLUS our beloved Rotary
   member and School Superintendent Sharon Parker, jump into the
   33 degree waters of the Brandywine River. This was all for a good cause

to support the Brandwine Valley Association.

Longwood Rotary visits "Good Morning America"

   CONGRATULATIONS to Rosemary Gill and Theresa Sheehan on their
   stealthy guestappearance on ABC's "Good Morning America" television
   show on January 26, 2008. They did a GREAT job promoting Rotary to
   millions of people in the US, including getting program host Diane Sawyer
   to say "thanks to all the Rotarians around American for all the good work
   you do." Thanks Rosemary and Theresa for a GREAT television debut !!!
